The house of blacksmith Sergei Kirillov is located in the antiquated village of Kunar in Sverdlovsk Oblast, 630 miles to the east of Moscow. Since the late 1980s, the building has become known throughout Russia.

One of the most mysterious monuments of Arctic culture, the Whale Bone Alley, is located on Yttygran Island in the south-east of Chukotka. The island has never been inhabited and contains two rows of about 500 metres of the ribs and sculls of giant Greenland whales. The ribs are five metres tall. // An August day in near Anadyr. Having tamed and befriended the golden eagle, the hunter moves on to the second stage of training, which involves horse-riding with the bird. Wearing a thick ox-hide glove, the hunter rides several hours a day with the bird perched on his arm.
The actual molding itself takes about 10 minutes, but the preparation stage can last a few months, depending on the complexity of the work.
